Skill: Editing
All of these samples reflect my editing skills when it comes to going through multiple drafts and revising my own work. Each artifact contains a rough draft and a final draft that is free of any spelling, grammatical, and structural issues.
The first piece of composition was centered around the topic of gender dysphoria. The main argument was that gender dysphoria is rooted in both psychological and genetic causes. My extensive research found that there is substantial evidence pointing to both factors. The final draft displays my development from the first draft due to decisive editing that focused on proofreading for spelling, grammatical, and structural errors.
This piece was structured around the portrayal of online identities . I argued individuals often create an ideal identity for themselves through social networking sites. The first draft had a wide array of errors ranging from sentence structure to grammar. Despite the rough start, I was able to produce a polished piece with help from peer editors and my own revision decisions.
