My name is Matthew Monroe, a recent magna cum laude graduate from Old Dominion University with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in marketing. I’ve always had a passion for writing. I remember as a kid I would create my own pirate stories and let my imagination run wild. It was only natural that I pursue this love for writing at the college level. While in college, I discovered writing can serve many purposes besides developing creative stories. It’s the essence of effective communication in our global society and it has the power to bridge gaps between two distant parties. Therefore, I don’t necessarily see myself as just a writer, but also a bridge builder. Bridges overcome obstacles which allows us to freely navigate and connect with the other side. Writing serves the same purpose across many disciplines and failure to communicate in a methodical manner will keep the other side at a distance. My goal is to build a strong bridge with the skills I have developed from my education and experiences. The disciplines and jobs may be different, but the goal of bridging the gap is always the same.
